Giving FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What is tithe?

The word “tithe” comes from the Hebrew word meaning tenth. It is the practice of giving 10% of your earnings to the local church. The act of tithing predates the Old Testament, and we see it taught and modeled all throughout the Bible (Leviticus 27:30, Proverbs 3:9, Malachi 3:10, Matthew 23:23). Tithe is less about obedience and more about living by faith in God’s Faithfulness and provision.

Q. Can I make a one-time contribution?

Yes. The system will allow you to choose to make a one-time or set up recurring payments.

Q. Can I Tithe Online?

Absolutely. Even online, tithing can be an act of obedience and worship from your heart. Give your tithe (the first 10% of your income/increase) to God and see if He does not open the floodgates of heaven to bless you (Malachi 3:10).

Q. Why Online Giving?

We understand that many people pay their bills and handle their financial lives almost exclusively online. Online giving is an option for you to easily give to the ministry of Designer’s Way Christian Church.

God doesn’t need our money; He already owns it all. But when we willingly set aside the first part of our income for the local church and give liberal offerings, our hearts will be turned toward Him. (Matthew 6:21)

Thank you for helping support Designer’s Way Christian Church.

Q. How About Offerings?

All free-will offerings can be designated to the areas of ministry which you desire to give toward. Undesignated offerings will be assigned to areas of specific need.

Q. Why do we give?

The Bible says in Matthew 6:24 that the top competitor for our commitment to Jesus is money. Giving allows us to demonstrate that He is more important to us than material things. Giving strengthens our devotion to Christ and frees us to live open-handedly with the gifts God gives us. We trust in Him and His provision instead of our perceived self-sufficiency. As people of faith, we give faithfully and generously.
